How to transfer your number

After you've successfully registered for service, you will be provided with instructions to verify that your existing phone number can be transferred to your new service. The verification process normally takes 48-72 hours.

There are several factors that may prevent a number from being transferred. The transfer process can only be initiated after a user has been successfully registered for phone service. Please note that you are responsible for any fees from your current provider associated with your number transfer.

Once the number is confirmed as transferable, we'll take you through the simple steps of authorizing us to transfer the number from your old provider on your behalf.

Keep Your Existing Phone Number: It's as Easy as 1-2-3!

Just sign-in to the Member Center (you must already be an existing member to sign-in) and select the option to "Keep Your Existing Phone Number." Sign-up, and we'll send you the simple steps to start the transfer process.

It's as easy as 1-2-3!:

1. Sign-in to the Member Center. Select the option to "Keep Your Existing Phone Number". Fill out the form(s) and submit. We will then confirm that you have E911 coverage (required by U.S. law) and reply back to you via email within 24-72 hours.

2. Once you are confirmed for E911, we will then ask you to fax us 2 documents: 1. a signed "Letter of Authorization" (which legally authorizes us to continue with the transfer; form will be provided), and 2. a photocopy of your most recent phone bill clearly displaying your name and the phone number you wish to transfer.

3. Once we receive your signed "Letter of Authorization" and a valid copy of your phone bill, you will be given a date for when your number will be transferred and ready for use! This part of the process may take longer than 3 weeks.

For your assurance, our Tech Support Team will be available, on-call, and ready to discuss the process and status for transferring your number. They can be reached at 1 (888) 868-8318, 7 Days a Week, 6AM-8PM, Pacific Standard Time.

You do not need to contact your current phone provider to cancel your service.   The transfer process may take longer than 3 weeks. During this time please do not make any changes to your current phone service- this may delay the transfer process. While the transfer is taking place you'll be able to use your new service and all the great features with the temporary number provided during sign up. Once transfer is complete we'll notify you by email.

My number couldn't be transferred. What next?

There are certain situations in which numbers can't be transferred- unfortunately this is beyond our control. These situations include:

  • Numbers associated with DSL Internet providers*
  • Disconnected numbers
  • Beeper or Pager numbers
  • Numbers with features enacted such as; transfer freeze, distinctive ring, or ISDN or CENTREX related features
  • Subscribers that are not within E911 coverage areas

Don't worry! We'll verify your number first before starting the process. If your number can't be transferred you may choose another number within your area, or elsewhere. You may also change your calling plan to an outbound-only service level.

* DSL Internet customers are not eligible for phone number transfers-as residential phone numbers are required to provide Internet service to that customer's residence.
